What is a neighborhood crime watch and what does it do?

The Paloma Creek Neighborhood Crime Watch program is comprised of a group of citizens living in Paloma Creek who aim to make their neighborhood safer by working together in conjunction with local law enforcement to reduce crime and improve their quality of life. Neighborhood crime watch groups have regular meetings to plan how they will accomplish their specific goals within the larger area. It is an opportunity to volunteer while working toward increasing the safety and security of our homes. The neighborhood crime watch also empowers citizens and our community to be active in emergency preparedness and community disasters as needed.

The primary goals of our neighborhood crime watch are to report suspicious activity, reduce crime, and increase neighborhood safety. We operate under the concept that crime prevention will occur through citizen involvement. We are NOT a substitute for law enforcement. We are here to observe and report suspicious people and activities.

Vigilante actions are in no way condoned by our program. Anyone who participates in vigilante justice will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

You can read additional details about our neighborhood crime watch on the FAQ page and learn more information about our program here.
